COMING UP:   "What culture says in 3D"    JUNE 2015

University of Brighton Annual Degree Show

Date from the 8th to 14th of June 2015

                              &

London New Designers 2015 (part 1)

Date from the 24th to 27th of June 2015

This summer, new graduate Eusebio Sanchez, will be exhibiting his dynamic range of “flowing bowls” and other sculptural objects inspired by idiomatic expressions at the 3D Design and Craft Degree show.

Spanish-born Sanchez, explores linguistic expressions through a mixture of sculptural objects made from ceramics and different polymers and composites. These objects represent a mix of British and Spanish culture in a playful and conceptual way.

Sanchez describes his work as, ‘Language can be surreal and funny when translating into a different language, for instance to find your half orange means to find your better half, I want to bring that playfulness to my sculptural objects’. ‘These popular expressions don’t adjust to the grammatical norms, but do they adjust to the craft norms?’
